| Abercelyn
is ideally situated in Snowdonia for mountain-walking, there are
three local mountain ranges (Arenig,
Aran, Berwyn) readily accessible and other
parts of Snowdonia are a short drive away. The local mountain
ranges provide un-crowded walking over a variety of terrain, ranging
from valley walks to peaks approaching 3000 ft.

For long distance walkers,
transport can be provided to suitable points - by prior booking only
and subject to availability. For example Llanuwchllyn is on the Dyfi
Valley Way and the Cambrian Way (Aran extension). There are routes through the
Berwyns are within easy access of Abercelyn.

walks are available to suit most interests. Examples of the
categories available are given below:
- Scenic
walks: easy-moderate walks, typically 3-5 hours and ascending up
to 2000 ft (600 m)
- Local
and classic high-level walks: strenuous walks typically 6-9 miles, 5-6 hours
and ascending up to 3000 ft (900 m)

Tailor
made holidays
If
you want something tailor-made, e.g. private guiding with transport, contact
us to discuss. We aim to be flexible and will try to accommodate your
requirements. Other options include doing something different –
whitewater rafting, canoeing, sailing and mountain biking are all
available locally. Off-road driving (4x4), fishing and hunting can be
arranged. |

Accommodation
is provided in Abercelyn Country House
or Cottage. In Abercelyn
Country House all bedrooms have en-suite luxury bathrooms. In the Cottage
two bedrooms are en-suite and one has an adjacent private bathrooms.
Home-cooking with local hand-picked ingredients is our speciality. From
the dining room there are views of the garden and mountain stream. The
drawing room with library, open fires in winter and views of the
garden is available for guests use. |
